Melissa Berry is an MLIS graduate student at the University of Arizona’s iSchool. Her scholarship has been focused on counter-hegemonic action, cultural resilience, and how to build communal power. In her capacity as a FOCAS intern, Melissa has been assisting MAHHM with their Tucsonense Oral History Project, compiling stories from elders to help keep their memories and knowledge alive. Her work with MAHHM is the culmination of her experience with community support organizing and her commitment to helping people’s stories get told.
