Kelli Luck is a recent graduate of the MLIS program at the UofA. She specializes in historical research and children’s literature. She works with local children in a midtown elementary school and aims to bring a more multicultural and diverse approach to the library. She recognizes that many children are not largely represented in literature and aims to bring attention to marginalized stories. During her work at the AQA, she processed the Susan E Morgan collection which included a variety of queer literature and a children’s picture book about a girl with two mothers. Kelli curated several social media posts intended to advertise the new collection and share a rare glimpse into the queer community in the early 90s. She thoroughly enjoyed working in the Archive as well as participating in a public exhibit which showcased other collections housed in the archive. She will continue to support the archive and other community archives in her work and personal life.
