About

The Centre international de documentation et d’information haïtienne, caribéenne, et afro-canadienne (CIDIHCA) is a research and information centre which collects, organizes, classifies, and makes accessible a wide range of resources on Haiti, the Caribbean, and Afro-Canadian communities. Its archives and library include over 20,000 holdings–microfilms, books, journals, newspapers, photographs, VHS, DVDs, vinyls, CDs–all related to Haiti, the Caribbean, the Americas, and their diasporas.

The Centre addresses historical and contemporary challenges faced by Black communities in Quebec, Canada, and internationally. CIDIHCA periodically organizes exhibitions that highlight the most current and vibrant aspects of Black history and holds regular conferences to promote and raise awareness of Caribbean and Black cultures.
