Lauren Wong (she/her) is a Vancouver-based information professional with a focus on digital libraries, archives, and community-driven projects. She holds a BA (Hons) in Translation, an MA in Japanese Studies, and recently completed her Master of Library and Information Studies at UBC. Lauren has gained diverse experience working in libraries and archives across Canada, including a role at the Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre in New Denver, B.C., where she gained valuable insights into community archives, anti-racist practices, and the significance of digitization and digital preservation.
As a FOCAS intern, Lauren works as a Research and Cataloguing Assistant with the South Asian Canadian Digital Archive at the University of Fraser Valley. She collaborates with Iori Khuhro to create an inventory and file-level descriptions for the Chandra Bodalia fonds. Lauren is also contributing to a project that explores the Chinese and Japanese Canadian workers documented in the payroll ledger of the Mayo Lumber Company in Paldi.
